Speaker wire question. 10 pts for best answer?

im hooking up some speakers to my tv and i need to extend one of the wires so it will reach the receiver, however all i have is some direct burial outside speaker cable. It’s the right gauge and everything so can i still use this inside even though it’s a direct burial outside wire?

Yes, of course, as long as it is direct burial wire intended for speakers. Even if it isn’t intended for speakers as long as it is multi-strand wire and is the proper gauge (16 -14) it will work just fine. The electrons inside the wire don’t know what is covering the wire and that is the only difference between direct burial wire and any other kind of wire, the insulation is heavier and formulated to be resistant to things like moisture and shovels.
